Another successful sports day was held at our school on Wednesday 22nd June 2016. Congratulations to all the children who participated.

SCHOOL ELECTIONS

On Friday 11th September we held elections for various representative committees for pupils.

VISITS TO PEMBROKE & CAREW CASTLES

During the week commencing Monday 14th September our Years 3 and 4 classes visited both Pembroke and Carew Castles.

EARLY YEARS VISIT TO THE DINOSAUR PARK

On Friday 18th September the whole of the Early Years children visited the Dinosaur Park near Tenby as part of their work on the term's theme of Dinosaurs.

WEAR DOTS… RAISE LOTS RNIB FUNDRAISER

Thank you to everyone who participated in this fundraiser by wearing spots or dots and by donating. £129.89 was raised toward this very worthy cause.

STAFF CHANGES

Good bye for now and good luck to Miss Cawley who has left us to join the Flying Start Team as an Advisory Teacher on a two year secondment. We wish her all the very best in her new venture.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Fayre on Thursday 19th November. A massive £1200 was raised for school funds.

OUR CHOIR ON THE RADIO

Our school choir were chosen to sing a carol on the Radio Pembrokeshire Christmas 2015 CD. They chose The Twelve Days of Christmas.

INTERNET SAFETY

Tuesday 9th February - Our class digital champion reps just lead a special whole school assembly for Safer Internet Day and will be supporting classes in activities throughout the day.

CLASS 5 / 6 NM

Mrs Moir's class held their family assembly on Friday 24th October on the subject of 'Honesty'.

URDD UPDATE

At the Welsh Urdd Championship in Aberystwyth the boys again did exceptionally well coming third overall.

A big congratulations to our school football team. They are now the Urdd Pembrokeshire Schools Football Champions!!

TORCH THEATRE FILM FESTIVAL

On Wednesday 8th July our school participated in the annual Pembrokeshire Film Festival at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven.

ST DAVID’S DAY 2014

This year we celebrated St David's Day on Tuesday 4th March with a selection of Welsh songs and poems being delivered to parents by our children from Years 3 and 4.

Thursday March 6th 2014 was World Book Day.

During May 2014 we held two creative days in school.

CHURCH VISIT

During the week of 9th to 13th June our infant classes all visited St Clements Church in Neyland as part of their Religious Education studies.

TORCH THEATRE TREAT

On Monday 23rd June 2014 twelve year 5 and 6 children received a fantastic treat.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

On Wednesday 25th June we held our annual Sports Day. The Infants in the morning and the Juniors in the afternoon. This Year 'Parry' house was the overall winner.

On Tuesday 8th July our Reception classes visited Folly Farm.

During the past few months Mrs Judith Wilson, one of our governors, has been growing vegetables and salad items with Dosbarth Glas.

ZANZIBAR VISITORS

The Minister of Education and a number of teachers from Zanzibar visited Pembrokeshire during the week of 14th July 2014.

YEAR 6 LEAVERS CONCERT

On Tuesday 15th July our Year 6 children presented their Leavers Concert entitled, 'I'm a Year 6, Get Me Out Of Here!'

YEAR 6 PROM NIGHT

On Wednesday 16th July our Year 6 leavers held their annual prom night.

COMMONWEALTH GAMES

Dosbarth Pinc have spent the last two weeks of July learning about the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

THE SUSTRANS BIKE-IT INITIATIVE

Throughout the year we hold weekly 'Scooterer' competitions.

Mrs Pamela Pickford has been teaching here at Neyland School since 2002.

A YEAR WITH CLASS 4JS

Last year 4JS visited Freshwater East beach to practice their maths skills on the beach.

HARVEST SERVICE

On Wednesday 10th October our two Reception classes celebrated Harvest. It was well attended by parents and Deacon Janet and Reverend Martin both made contributions to the service.

GO PINK!

On Wednesday 24th October we held a 'Wear Something Pink' Day to help raise funds for the Charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Thank you to everyone for supporting this event.

STAMP CLUB SUCCESS

PEMBROKESHIRE FILM FESTIVAL 2013

Congratulations to Class 5RW/PP won the Pembrokeshire Film Festival - Primary Film Award - for 'All The World's A Stage' last Thursday 4th July.

THE SOUTH WALES PHILATELIC SOCIETY’S, JUNIOR THEMATIC CUP

Congratulations to three of our pupils for being winners of the Federation of South Wales Philatelic Society's Junior Thematic Cup.

WELSH SCHOOLS HERITAGE COMPETITION

On Tuesday 10th July we won £1,000 for the school as part of the Welsh Schools Heritage Initiative.

NEW BUILDING

On Monday 5th September 2012 we officially received the key to the door of our new school building. This photograph was taken on Monday 12th September, the first day back for the children.

SYNAGOGUE & MOSQUE VISIT

Years 5 and 6 went to the synagogue and mosque in Cardiff to further their Religious Studies on 25th January.

LLANGRANNOG VISIT

Our Year 6 children went to Llangrannog on Wednesday 22nd February staying at the Urdd Residential Activity Centre.

JACKIE MORRIS VISIT

On 15th March 2012, our school was visited by the Pembrokeshire author and illustrator, Mrs Jackie Morris.

RENEWAL OF THE ICT QUALITY MARK

Following a visit by the ICT Quality Mark Assessor, Duncan Whitehurst in March we are thrilled to have had our ICT Quality Mark renewed.

FILM FESTIVAL

After weeks of writing stories, designing sets, making models and recording, we have selected two teams to compete at the Pembrokeshire Film Festival this summer.

SPORTS RELIEF 2012

On Friday 23rd March 2012 our children took to the track at Neyland's Athletic Club to raise funds for Sports Relief 2012.

BIBLE PRESENTATION

On Thursday 24th May, every pupil from Year 2 to Year 6 in Neyland school were thrilled to be presented with a Bible courtesy of Bibles for Children.

CAKE STALL

A big thank you to everyone who donated cakes for our cake stall on Thursday 31st May. We raised an enormous £300.55 for our school fund.

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

Friday 1st June during the afternoon we will be holding a Jubilee Playground Party to help celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

HIT THE SURF

On Tuesday 19th June 2012 the Year 6 children took part in 'Hit the Surf' on Tenby Beach. The children were taught lifesaving skills and beach safety. Mr Safe (a visiting teacher from Zanzibar) also took part. All of the children had a fantastic time.

MILFORD HAVEN AND MARINA VISIT

On Monday 25th June a Year 5 class visited the Milford Haven Museum and the Marina.

MRS DAVIES’ RETIREMENT

A sad last day in school on Friday 20th July. Mrs Sheila Davies has retired after 17 years as a Learning Support Assistant at our school. She has been part of our Nursery staff for many years. We will miss her very much and we wish her a long and happy retirement.

COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECT

During September and October our Years 5 and 6 children have been involved in a Community Arts Project with local artist Pip Lewis and illustrator Joelle Brindley.

MUSICAL WORKSHOPS

Our Years 5 and 6 children have been busy creating contemporary sea shanties with musicians Helen Adam and George Whitfield via a series of Musical Workshops at school.

Congratulations to Mrs Morris whose daughter Seren was born on November 6th and to Miss Davies whose baby Kayla was born on November 17th.

The Children In Need fundraising day was held on Friday 10th November this year.

GOODBYE MISS CAWLEY

We say goodbye for a short time to Miss Cawley who will be leaving us at the end of term to start her maternity leave. She is expecting her second child in February 2011. Mrs Mathias will be covering Class 3 until Miss Cawley returns in July.

THEATRE VISIT

Arad Goch Theatre Companyvisited the children and told the story of some people who loved stones. They showed us lots of ways to use stones - making pictures and music, building sandcastles and using them in pretend play.

CHINESE NEW YEAR

The Infants have celebrated The Chinese New Year of 'The Rabbit'. Here are some photos of the dragons that Dosbarth Oren and Dosbarth Porffor made. The Nursery children made Chinese Lanterns and the whole of the Infant base got together to walk around the school and playground showing them off.

LLANGRANNOG VISIT

Our Year 6 children visited the Urdd Activity Centre at Llangrannog between 9th and 11th February this year. Once again they had a great time.

A celebration of Neyland Schools was held at both the infant and junior bases on Tuesday May 3rd.

GOODBYE REVEREND STEVE

Thursday 26th May was Reverend Steve Lee's last assembly with us. He is leaving Neyland shortly to take up a position in Bridgend in a bigger parish. He has been visiting our school for 11 years now. We wish him well.

SWIMMING GALA

Congratulations to Kingdom House for winning this year's Swimming Gala on Tuesday 5th July. Unfortunately due to restrictions we were unable to photograph the event.

FILM FESTIVAL

This year's Film Festival was held at The Torch Theatre in Milford Haven on Thursday 7th July. Unfortunately our school's entry in to the event did not win but our children enjoyed the red carpet experience.

GRADUATION

Graduation Congratulations to Mrs Berry Phillips, Mrs Kelly Mathias, Mrs Angela Martin, Miss Alison Ford and Mrs Gemma Morris who have all graduated from their Geiriau Bach - Welsh in the Foundation Phase Course.

On Friday 12th February we hosted Football and Netball matches against Milford Haven Junior School.

The majority of our Year 6 children visited The Urdd Activity & Welsh Learning Centre in Llangrannog between Wednesday 24th and Friday 26th February.

St Davids Day was celebrated this year with three concerts.

On Wednesday 17th March 10 lucky children were selected to visit Radio Pembrokeshire in Narberth.

FILM UPDATE

On Wednesday 3rd February all the children from years 4 - 6 took part in an interviewing skills workshops with local film maker Dave Whelton and Mrs Jones.

ANIMATION FUN

Both Year 5 classes have been undertaking an animation project this term.

FILM FESTIVAL

During the Spring 2010, both year 5 classes worked really hard in groups to plan, film and produce an animated film around a story of their choice during their ICT lessons.
